MEET DR. BRAD
PRITCHARD

When my son was 2 years old he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Not having much knowledge at the time of what the long term implications of this particular chronic disease were, my wife and I did a lot of reading. In the course of our research, one of the major concerns of living with Type 1 diabetes was peripheral neuropathy. We read that peripheral neuropathy is why people with long term diabetes can potentially have bad eyes, bad kidneys and bad feet. What was most disconcerting was that everything we read said there was nothing we could do about it.

I had been studying neurology for a number of years prior to my son’s diagnosis and in my research I came across a doctor in Phoenix that had developed a protocol of treatments that were helpful to those with neuropathy. After reading up on his research it became clear that along with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, there are numerous other causes of peripheral neuropathy including certain chemotherapy treatments and injuries. I decided to go to his clinic to learn first-hand what he was doing with patients even though I was very skeptical. After spending time with Dr. Joe and listening to a number of his patient’s success stories I knew I needed to pursue the training and ultimately provide the treatment at my office here in Calgary.

We have been helping people in Calgary with Peripheral Neuropathy since 2011 and in 2015 I had the privilege of educating and training other Doctors and we now have clinics available in both Saskatoon and Regina. It has been very rewarding to see the success of many people who were told there was no treatment and no hope!
